Morningside Extended Day Programs

Camp Morningside

Camp Morningside promises a fun-filled summer for kids 2.6 to 5.6 years old. Our day begins on our spacious rooftop playground where campers are free to play in the open space, try out our climbers and ride our tricycles.

As the day progresses, campers may choose from a variety of fun and creative activities.

Camp Morningside offers three programs for campers:

Peewee Program

Basic Program

Full Day Program

(For the latter two programs, campers must be potty-trained.)

Camp Morningside is broken up into five two-week sessions throughout the summer. Campers must attend a minimum of one session. There is a non-refundable deposit required with your application.

Toward the end of each session, campers will visit exciting neighborhood spots. Past trips have included NatureMax movies, shows at the Marionette Theater, visits to the Museum of Natural History, the Children's Museum of Manhattan and the Central Park Zoo.

Camp Morningside utilizes Morningside Montessori School's sun-filled, air-conditioned classrooms. Our staff is made up of experienced teachers and young professionals who return year after year to work with our campers. (For MMS alumni, Camp Morningside offers a CIT program for ages 12 and up.)

Camp Morningside offers an early bird option for those campers who need to begin their day at 8:00. This option is open to children ages. 3.6 to 5.6 years.

Summer of 2008 is Space Exploration Summer!

Groups will be divided into the Comets, the Meteors and the Asteroids. Science activities will have an emphasis on learning about outer space.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT A MORNINGSIDE SUMMER?

Yoga for kids! Fun yoga postures & stretching. A regular part of the Camp Morningside experience for everyone.

Music with Allison! Our own guitar-playing, lively, camp-song-knowing Allison! Allison has a background in musical & children's theater as well as in improv & stand-up comedy.

Art Studio! Campers will explore materials that involve pattern, symmetry, collage, texture-rubbing, and color mixing.

Soccer with the professional soccer coaches at the Brazilian Soccer Academy.

Our learn-to-swim program. Instructional swim with the "Take Me to the Water" program in the pool at the Montana. One instructor for every two kids!

In-House Trips such as visits from the Reptile Lady and Loony Louie.

As well as an instructional swim program, Camp Morningside offers sprinklers to cool off the busy bodies of those who choose to stay at camp. These are available on our rooftop playground in the early afternoon.
