This 6 week program is divided into 3 sessions that run from June 17th - July 25th

Our Summer Program promises a fun-filled summer for children ages 2.6 (2 years 6 months) to 5.5 years old. Our day begins on our spacious rooftop playground where children are free to play in the open space, try out our climbers and ride our tricycles.
As the day progresses, children may choose from a variety of fun and creative activities.
Our Summer Program offers three programs for children:
Peewee Program: Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9:00am-1:00pm
Basic Program:Mondays-Fridays, 9:00am-2:00pm
Full Day Program: Mondays-Fridays, add on 8:00am-9:00am, or extend the day until 4:00pm.
(For the latter two programs, children must be toilet-trained.)
The program is broken up into three two-week sessions throughout the summer. Children must attend a minimum of one complete session. There is a non-refundable deposit required with your application.
Toward the end of each session, children will visit exciting neighborhood spots. Past trips have included NatureMax movies, shows at the Marionette Theater, visits to the Museum of Natural History, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and the Central Park Zoo.
Our program takes place in Morningside Montessori School’s sun-filled, air-conditioned classrooms. Our staff is made up of experienced teachers and young adults who return year after year to work with our children. (For MMS alumni, we offer a CIT program for ages 12 and up.)
We also offer an early bird option for those children who need to begin their day at 8:00. This option is open to children ages 3 to 5 years.
As well as an instructional swim program, we offer sprinklers to cool off the busy bodies of those who choose to stay at the school. The sprinklers are available on our rooftop playground in the early afternoon.

THE THEME FOR OUR SUMMER OF 2013 IS:Our theme for the summer is children’s book authors! Each week focuses on a specific children’s book author: Eric Carle, Dr. Seuss, Kevin Henkes, Ruth Krauss, Laura Numeroff, and Mo Willems. Huge rooftop playground with climber, tricycles & sprinklers WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT A MORNINGSIDE SUMMER?Yoga for kids! Fun yoga postures and stretching. A regular part of the summer experience for everyone.
Music with Tim! Our own guitar-playing, lively, children’s-song-knowing Tim!
Tim has an extensive background in music, with an emphasis on a knowledge of instruments from around the world. Tim has been working with pre-schoolers for over 10 years.
Arts & Crafts Children explored materials that involve pattern, symmetry, collage, texture-rubbing, and color mixing.
Soccer with the professional soccer coaches at the Brazilian Soccer Academy.
Our Learn to Swim program. Instructional swim with “Swim Jim” in the pool at Columbus Square. Please note that this program has limited space. First come, First Served.
In-House Trips such as visits from the Reptile Lady, Loony Louie and magicians!
